The "100"

The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History is a 1978 book by Michael H. Hart. It is a ranking of the 100 people who most influenced human history. Since publication, the book has been hotly debated and its concept widely copied.[citation needed]

What mainly surprised readers was the first person on Hart's list.[citation needed] Hart decided to choose Muhammad over Jesus or Moses. Hart attributes this to the fact that Muhammad was successful in both the religious and political realms. He also writes that Muhammad's role in the development of Islam is far more influential than Jesus's collaboration in the development of Christianity. He attributes the development of Christianity to St. Paul, who played a pivotal role in the dissemination of Christianity.

The book was reprinted in 1992 with several notable revisions made to the original list of 100 people and their associated rankings.

Al-Quran in Brunei masjid not so practical to be used?

During my umrah few months ago, i can still recall the atmosphere inside Masjid Nabawi and notice one thing in common, lots of people read the Quran. This is one of the best amal that one could do to receive Allah’s reward and one of the easiest. And yet, coming back to Brunei i just realised, you don’t see very often a person opening the big green Al-Quran and recite it within the masjid. IT’S JUST TOO BIG! that’s one problem, the other problem is that you hardly see any rehal available (for some masjid). Imagine placing the big quran on your own lap, it would be very heavy. You can see from the below picture the difference between our quran in Brunei and in Mecca/Medina.
I totally have nothing against the green version of our Quran that was probably dikurniakan by his majesty our Sultan, in fact probably it’s being used by other country as well. My concern is just the practicality. The be honest i never touch these green Quran in the masjid except when i went for my Majlis Khatam Al-Quran in my old religious school. That's it! Now whenever i wanted to do iktikaf in masjid and one of them is to recite the Quran i would bring my own average size Quran Al-Karim. I remember that one time i wanted so much to use the green Quran when i forgot to bring my own, it was hard for me to do. It's too big for me, in addition to that there's no rehal around. And so i decided to go back home and read at home.
There's a reason why people go to the Masjid you know. We need to change our mindset, especially during this blessed month of Ramadhan. I'tikaf is the key word here. The difference between reciting it at home and in Masjid is that when you read in the masjid, you will not just the receive the reward of reciting the Quran but also for your i'tikaf (with niat/niah of course because without niat/niah your i'ktikaf will not be valid).
Again please bare in mind this is just of personal opinion and i might be wrong at some extent. Only Allah Knows Best (All glory is due to Him the Most High).

Al-Quran mostly used in most Masjid in Mekah and Medinah

Green version of Al-Quran used in most of Masjid in Brunei

So let me know what you think of this brothers and sisters. Jazakallahu khair

Daily Hadith - Supplicating for Deceased

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "When An-Najashi died, the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, 'Pray for forgiveness for him.'" [Jami At-Tirmidhi - sahih hadith]

We learn here that on being informed about someone's death with the utterance of "we belong to Allah/ inna lillah", one should also supplicate for his/her forgiveness, so that Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) may forgive us as well.
